A downloadable game

During this module, I researched core topics that centred around user and player motivation and how gamified systems can be designed around them.

The research mainly centres around Octalysis, as it is a major pillar in this field for user motivations. With all 8 motivations being heavily useful to design systems around.

Additionally, the paper centres around how Flow Theory can be used, with things like negentropic resolution being used in games to resolve confusion and frictions. As well as the Big 5 Personality traits, which found varying results in the field around player interests, making them rather inconclusive.

Furthermore, an artefact was developed and tested to prove the material presented within the paper. The artefact was a gamified calendar that focuses on a weeks constrain, building routines, fighting bosses, etc. The artefact was designed around a user interface design made in Figma, which I made to ensure a concrete design vision for the game.
